What is life like at Churchill Group for career starters?
“After deciding I wanted a career change after 5 years, Churchill welcomed me. I had very little admin experience when I started, but I definitely feel like I have been given the right opportunities to progress and improve my communication skills. I have also had the opportunity to take part in a Mental Health First Aid course.”
Amelia Davis
“I joined Churchill in October 2022 on a 12-month IT Service Desk apprenticeship. Im now four months into the programme and am really enjoying being part of a friendly and supportive team where my contributions are appreciated and recognised with plenty of opportunities to grow and develop.”
Reed Barham
“Churchill is a fantastic place to start your career. You will work alongside a fantastic team of people and will receive the necessary tools to set you up for success. Since joining last year, I’ve learned a lot, always felt supported and included and that my contributions are making a difference.”

Why choose a career in facilities management?
Facilities management makes everything else happen. Without facilities management professionals behind the scenes looking after essential assets, workplaces wouldn’t function, and things wouldn’t get done. If you’re practical, a good communicator, and relish solving problems, starting a career in facilities management could be for you.
There are lots of different areas of facilities management to work in, so there’s plenty of choice when you’re at the start of your career. Here at Churchill Group we have specialist businesses focusing on different aspects of facilities management:
- Churchill Cleaning
- Churchill Environmental
- Amulet (Security)
- OnVerve (Guest Services)
- Portfolio (High Specification Cleaning)
- Chequers (Social Housing)
- Price Support Services (Window Cleaning)
There are also entry level job opportunities within all of our businesses for general support, including customer service and IT.
Apprenticeship opportunities
The best starter jobs offer the potential to progress. There are so many benefits of an apprenticeship. With the chance to gain on-the-job skills, it is a great first step into the world of work.
You’ll study part-time for a practical qualification like an NVQ, while working part time in one of our entry level facilities management jobs. Apprenticeships are available in all areas of facilities management.
Meet some of our current apprentices:
Daniel Furtado

What does a typical week look like for someone starting an entry level job or apprenticeship at Churchill Group?
As employers, we promise to always strive to do the right thing. This means that we do our best to make sure that during the onboarding process, you feel welcomed and supported by our team. With our wide range of apprenticeships available – from electrical engineering to Human Resources – a typical day can really vary depending on what sort of entry level job you choose.
With our apprenticeships, there’s always a small element of formal learning that leads you to an NVQ, so you may spend a few hours a week in a college or with a dedicated training provider. Most of your training will be done while on the job, so if full time further education isn’t for you – getting an entry level job through one of our schemes can be the perfect option for your next step.
“Thanks to the apprenticeship, I now have independence and can learn as part of my working day. I am also able to take home money, which means I can progress outside work.”
