At Churchill, we believe in fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive. We became a partner organisation with West Lea back in 2023 to offer individuals aged 16-24 the chance to gain work experience in our facilities management sector through West Lea’s Supported Internship Programme. Since supporting this programme, we have placed a number of interns across our business and client sites, and have recently welcomed Bradley Graham to our housekeeping team at ASOS.
Bradley’s background and journey
Bradley has been part of West Lea’s Supported Internship Programme since September 2024, having graduated from its year-long ‘Pre-Internship Programme’ a few months earlier. Bradley has a diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome and global developmental delay, and he also has a hearing impairment, for which he wears hearing aids. Despite these obstacles, Bradley has high ambitions to gain experience in a professional setting to build confidence and gain valuable skills to achieve his goals.
When Bradley initially had a tour of the ASOS site as part of a group of West Lea interns, he immediately stood out to our team and our client. He asked questions, showed excitement, and made an immediate connection with those around him. His enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement made it clear that he was eager to be part of the team, and we were delighted to offer him the internship.
Before officially starting the internship, Bradley spent time getting to know our housekeeping team at ASOS to ensure he felt comfortable. His first day was marked by a heartfelt welcome from our team and the ASOS client who arranged a team lunch having learnt that Bradley is a huge foodie.

Bradley currently works at the ASOS site every Friday for two hours. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays can get quite busy, and it was important for us to ensure an environment where Bradley was comfortable and had the space to focus on his tasks. Bradley supports our housekeeping team with clearing the waste, ensuring that kitchen points and walkways are clear, clean and tidy, and he also has a responsibility to correctly dispose of any cardboard. His responsibilities are important, and Bradley takes great pride in his tasks.

Support and development
Bradley’s job coach, Marvin, has played a key role in helping him transition into his role. Marvin supports Bradley with his travel to work and guides him through his tasks alongside our team supervisor.
As Bradley’s self-belief continues to grow and when he feels comfortable, we will look to increase his hours and days on site, with Marvin gradually tapering off his support. This will allow Bradley to continue with building confidence in his work and develop independence whilst still ensuring he has the support he needs from our team.
Impact
Since joining our housekeeping team at ASOS, Bradley has brought an infectious energy, a strong work ethic, and a warmth that has made him an integral part of the workplace. He greets colleagues with his signature warmth and a big smile, always eager to chat and ask questions.
Bradley’s experience so far has shown how capable and determined he is when given the right support and opportunities. Despite facing challenges, Bradley’s strong-hearted nature, reliability, and team spirit shine through. His determination, warmth, and commitment have made a real impact on the entire ASOS team.
When asked about his internship experience so far, Bradley shared:
“I like working at ASOS. I clear the rubbish away and keep the place tidy. I enjoy working with my team, as they make me happy, and my favourite thing is the food – the fish and chips are yummy!”
Marvin, Bradley’s job coach, said:
“From the moment Bradley joined the Churchill team down at ASOS, it was clear the environment was the right fit for him. He has met a team full of positive energy, quality support and inclusivity, with each member helping him to become a vital, integral part of the team.”
Rosa Ramos, Housekeeping Supervisor, said:
“Bradley is a wonderful addition to our team. He is hardworking, always willing to learn and brings a great attitude to the workplace. We are happy to have him with us.”
Gary McGibbon, ASOS Senior Space Experience Manager, said:
“Once you meet Bradley, there’s no forgetting him! I’m not sure if ASOS chose Bradley, or Bradley chose ASOS. Either way, he’s the perfect fit!”
Billy Davis, ASOS Space Support and Helpdesk Manager, said:
“Bradley is the highlight of our Fridays! We all enjoy seeing him and having a chat over lunch. He always comes with a smile and makes sure everyone is feeling ok. Marvin, his job coach, is great with him.”
At Churchill, we are committed to breaking down barriers and working with our clients to foster workplaces where everyone can shine. Bradley’s journey is a testament to the power of opportunity, inclusion, and the right support. We are so proud to be part of Bradley’s journey and are excited to see how he continues to grow.
