Churchill shortlisted in the Golden Service Awards 2022

We are delighted to announce that the Churchill Group has been shortlisted in the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ category at the Golden Service Awards 2022. Our entry is for our Make Ready work with the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).

The category is for businesses that went above and beyond during times of adversity. Judges were looking for clear examples of:

  • The adversity and its impact on daily life
  • The impact it had on the cleanliness operation
  • Measures taken to overcome the adversity
  • Measurement of the success of the measures taken

Supporting the healthcare sector

It goes without saying that the healthcare sector has been under immense pressure since March 2020, and even now that shows no signs of abating.

We work with SCAS on Make Ready, ensuring that their ambulance fleets are prepared, cleaned, re-stocked and all equipment is working before every shift. Typical methods deployed include highly specialised deep cleaning, infection control, medicine stock and device management, ambulance allocation and tracking, vehicle assessments and audits.

Our Mo:dus Make Ready app has been critical during the pandemic. Designed specifically to address the challenges of the ambulance sector, its core rationale is to establish transparency, resilience, accuracy and insight in the workflows by digitising the different aspects of Make Ready delivery models, including that of SCAS. The digital process also significantly reduces the time for the Make Ready process.

All ambulances are tagged with a digital code linked to the Mo:dus platform. When scanned by a Make Ready Operative (MRO), all data relating to that ambulance is presented, such as which medicines need to be replenished. This enables our teams to check, remedy and log all supplies, internal and external damage, lights and sirens, cleanliness and more to ensure the vehicle is fit leave the site. This process also acts as an audit as all data is stored and can be accessed whenever needed.

Since February 2020, we have completed 1281 vehicle decontaminations, which represents an increase of 335% on our usual workload. We also provided an additional 4,000 hours to assist with the extra work loads brought about by the pandemic, including additional vehicle packing requirements, PPE and decontamination of equipment.

The Golden Service Awards were created more than 30 years ago and are one of the leading awards programmes for the contract cleaning sector in the UK and Ireland. The ‘Going the Extra Mile’ category was added for 2022 to acknowledge achievements during the pandemic.
