We are delighted to announce that the Churchill Group is a finalist in the ‘Team of the Year: Private Sector’ category at the IWFM Impact Awards 2021.
The ‘Team of the Year: Private Sector’ award celebrates outstanding workplace and facilities management teams and the positive impact that they have for their organisations and customers. We have been shortlisted for our team at Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield.
The Meadowhall Centre is one of the UK’s largest shopping centres. It covers 1.4 million sq. ft. of floor space and is home to 290 stores, 50 places to eat, and an 11-screen cinema. We have been working at Meadowhall for three years, helping to provide a high-quality leisure experience for 24 million visitors every year.
The “Churchill at Meadowhall Team” provides both hard and soft FM services. We deliver high quality maintenance services across the site as well as managing waste, recycling, high level cleaning, gardening, management of the car parks and surrounding lands. The team also includes highly trained security officers, as well as specialist concierge staff to help manage customer service around the centre.
As with all sectors, retail was hit hard by Covid. We have been completely focused on delivering a covid safe environment that meets the requirements set out in legislation, while also meeting the needs of the centre and its visitors. Staff wellbeing has also been high on our list, with mental health support sessions and reintegration sessions for those returning from furlough two examples of how we have supported our colleagues.
Louisa Clarke, managing director – operations at Churchill, said: “The Team of the Year award is so special because we truly get to celebrate each and every individual at Meadowhall and the contribution they have made. It’s obviously been a challenging year for us all and a huge shopping centre is no different. The way the team has adapted, evolved and approached every challenge has been amazing. A huge congratulations to them all and we look forward to the ceremony in October.”
