We are delighted to announce that we are an employment partner with JobOppO, a veterans’ employment community built by veterans, for veterans.
JobOppO was founded with the acknowledgement that changing gear from military life to a “traditional” civilian job is a daunting prospect for many service leavers. The platform partners with businesses of all sizes, from global brands to SMEs, but they all have one thing in common – a commitment to supporting the veteran community into employment.
FM a key sector for veterans
Facilities management offers an extensive range of challenging career opportunities and the skills learned in the military transfer well into FM.
We employ numerous veterans and have a strong track record of support. Highlights include:
- Signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019, recognised with the Silver Award just one year after and recently received the Gold award for 2022
- Our Operations MD Louisa Clarke appointed to the Government’s Veterans Advisory Board
- Louisa won the ‘Business Leader of the Year – Large Business’ award at the British Ex-Forces Business Awards
Churchill is a sector sponsor for facilities management on JobOppO which allows us to share FM sector insights and job opportunities, as well as interact with a closed veteran community with direct interest in a career in FM via the JobOppO app.
Supporting the wider community
Our partnership with JobOppO will also support other facets of the transition to civilian life. Last year JobOppO donated over £25,000 from their revenue to military charities that support veterans with many aspects of civilian life, such as housing and health and wellbeing.
We’re proud to have added yet another way that we can support veterans into employment and with their transition to civilian life. With Louisa taking on such a prominent role at a national level, we will continue to lead the way within FM for veterans’ support.
