Churchill achieves Gold Award with the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme 2022

We are thrilled to announce that the Churchill Group been recognised with the Gold award from the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) for 2022. We were previously a recipient of the Silver award in 2020.

The ERS Gold Award is designed to recognise employers who proactively demonstrate their forces-friendly credentials. Our managing director of operations, Louisa Clarke, is one of many Churchill employees who has an ex-service background. After joining the Royal Air Force at 18, Louisa served for over a decade as a Movements Controller.

Churchill is an organisation that helps veterans transition to working in a civilian capacity. One of our current programmes is the buddying system, which allows any interested ex-service personnel to speak to others in Churchill that have a military background before applying for any specific roles.

Louisa Clarke, managing director for operations at Churchill, said: “We are honoured to have received the Gold award. As a veteran, it brings me great pleasure to work for a company that values those who come from similar career backgrounds as myself. We endeavour to continue developing our Armed Forces support services here at Churchill, and we’d like to thank the ERS team for this recognition.”

Darren Rhodes, the Regional Employer Engagement Director at the North of England Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association, said: “We want to congratulate Churchill Group on being awarded their ERS Gold award. Churchill Group is a company with ex-military at their heart and is creating positive pathways nationally. In the three years since their MOD engagement commenced, the company has credit for two external organisation Armed Forces Covenant signings, an ERS Bronze Award registration and supported an activity to encourage 100 young women in the NE to consider careers in Facilities Management and Logistics within the military. A remarkable range of advocacy delivered in a relatively short timeframe, and during a pandemic!”

A regional ERS Gold Awards ceremony will take place on 14th November in York.
